Gigi Vong started learning the piano at the age of 5. She achieved Grade 8 piano certificate with distinction at 13 years old, and later DipABRSM in piano performance, studying with Chénchún. She is also an erhu student of Zhāngyuèrú (張悅如) and acquired the erhu 10th level certificate of the Chinese National Orchestral Society with excellent results.

In 2009, Gigi was admitted to the inaugural full-time music course at the Macau Conservatory, majoring in Erhu, mentored by the Chief of Macau Chinese Orchestra, Master Zhāngyuèrú (張悅如). Later, she continued her erhu studies with the Chief of erhu of the Macau Chinese Orchestra, Dǒnglǐzhì (董禮治). Gigi enrolled to the Bachelor of Music degree at the Macau Polytechnic in academic year of 2015/2016. Whilst a student, she participated in various performance, such as the Polytechnic Choir and Percussion Band performances. Gigi was also a vocal student of the head of the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, Brian Montgomery and soprano Ms. Li Jing. She also studied piano with Associate Professor Maria Vanessa Leao (梁詠茜).
