HO KA I
Senior Teacher - Clarinet / Music Therapy

Bachelor of Music in Performance (Clarinet) (ASU)
Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
Ka I graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Arizona State University with a double major in Clarinet Performance and Music Therapy. Her early clarinet studies were guided by Miss Kose Ko and Miss Kelly Chau, and prior to her studies in the U.S., she earned the ABRSM ARSM Performance Diploma in Clarinet. She also holds ABRSM Grade 8 certifications in both Piano and Music Theory, which established a comprehensive musical foundation. During her time in the United States, supported by the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau Grant for Cultural and Artistic Studies as well as university scholarships, she studied clarinet performance under Dr. Robert Spring and Dr. Joshua Gardner.
Ka I possesses extensive performance and festival experience. She has presented joint recitals in Macao, performed as a featured soloist with the Macao Youth Symphonic Band, and toured across Europe and Asia for international wind band festivals. While studying abroad, she attended a clarinet academy in Belgium and performed in masterclasses led by distinguished musicians, including Anthony McGill, Juan Ferrer, Joë Christophe, and the Brooklyn Rider string quartet.
As an actively practicing Board Certified Music Therapist, Ka I integrates performance background with clinical experience, upholding a teaching philosophy centered on individualized instruction and adaptive development. By tailoring her teaching strategies to fit each student's unique learning style and pace, she aims to help students cultivate a passion for learning and foster self-affirmation through music.
