Bachelor of Music (Horn Performance)
The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts
Jerald Ng is a graduating student at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Horn Performance. He studied with Mr. Homer Lee and currently studies under Lin Jiang, Principal Horn of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Throughout his studies, he has built a strong orchestral foundation through frequent professional engagements, gaining extensive experience across symphonic and chamber repertoire.
Jerald has appeared as a guest musician with the Macao Orchestra, performing under distinguished conductors including Jaap van Zweden and Lü Jia. He has also taken part in collaborative projects with German Hornsound and the horn section of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra as a student representative of HKAPA. His musical growth has been further enriched through masterclasses and coaching with renowned international artists such as Christoph Eß and Nico Fleury.
Following a diagnosis of embouchure dystonia, Jerald underwent a thorough technical reconstruction, developing specialised knowledge in healthy brass performance, injury prevention, efficient practice methods, and performance psychology.
He is dedicated to sharing these insights—together with his orchestral and pedagogical experience—to help students develop sustainable technique, musical assurance, and an authentic artistic voice.
