Joanna Wong is a piano performer, teacher, accompanist and music educator. In 2015, she received a full scholarship for study at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In 2019 she gained her Bachelor of Music (honours) degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts majoring in piano performance, under the tutelage of renowned pianist Colleen Lee and the celebrated piano pedagogue Eleanor Wong. In 2021 she graduated with a Master of Music degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in collaborative piano, under the tutelage of the remarkable collaborative pianist and conductor Prof. Hsu Wei-en. Her studies was supported by the HKAPA School of Music Scholarship, Postgraduate Education Scholarship and Macau SAR Cultural Affairs Bureau Scholarship. Joanna also serves as a member of the piano accompaniment faculty at the Academy.
Her professional training began at Macao Conservatory School of Music since 2015, where she studied piano performance with Mr. Li Chen Leung. In 2019 she graduated from Macao Conservatory School of Music with professional high school certification, and she received numerous prizes from the School of Music, Macao Foundation and Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau.
She has been a regular prize-winner at the piano competitions since young, including the 1st Prize in 2015 Hong Kong Music Competition for Young Pianists and prizes at the Youth Music competitions in Macau organised by Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau. She has worked with internationally renowned piano masters and chamber music educators such as Aquiles Dellê Vigne, Stephen Kovacevich, Dr. Sharon Choa, Michael Ma, Gabriel Kwok, Nancy Loo, Louis Schwizgebel-Wang and Sa Chen. In the summer of 2018, she was selected to participate the 43rd Musical Artistry in Goslar (Germany) and performed successfully at Kreishaus Goslar, coached by one of the greatest pianists and pedagogues Arie Vardi.
