Joanna Wong is a pianist, educator, and collaborative pianist based in Macau. In 2019, she obtained her Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), majoring in Piano Performance under the tutelage of celebrated piano pedagogue Ms. Eleanor Wong and renowned pianist Ms. Colleen Lee. In 2021, she graduated with a Master of Music degree from HKAPA, majoring in Collaborative Piano under the guidance of distinguished pianist and conductor Prof. Hsu Wei-en. During her studies, she received scholarships from the Macau SAR Government, Hong Kong SAR Government, and HKAPA School of Music, and served as a Piano Accompaniment Teaching Assistant at the Academy.
Her musical training began at the Macao Conservatory School of Music in 2009, where she studied Piano Performance under Mr. Li Chen Leung. In 2015, she graduated with a Professional High School Certification, receiving numerous awards from the Conservatory, the Macao Foundation, and the Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau, including the Lotus Prize (First in Grade) and the Choi Ling Shuang Prize (First in Instrumental Performance). A regular prize-winner since childhood, her accolades include 1st Prize at the 2015 Hong Kong Music Competition for Young Pianists, 1st Prize in the Liszt Category at the 2013 Asia-Pacific Youth Piano Competition, and multiple awards at the Macau Youth Music Competition. In 2009, she was honored with the "Most Promising Talent Award" by the Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau.
Joanna has studied with internationally renowned piano masters and pedagogues, including Aquiles Delle Vigne (a disciple of Claudio Arrau), Prof. Tamás Ungár, Prof. Gabriel Kwok, Prof. Du Tai-hang, and Ms. Sa Chen. In 2018, she was selected to participate in the 43rd Musical Artistry in Goslar, Germany, where she performed at Kreishaus Goslar following masterclasses with legendary pianist and educator Prof. Arie Vardi.
Passionate about music education, Joanna frequently receives Excellent Piano Teacher Awards, and her students have achieved outstanding results in various competitions. Her mission is to let the society grow with harmony and peace through cultivate great musicians with great virtuous.
