In 2018, Kary Chao has achieved Bachelor of Music Studies majoring in classical piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, The University of Sydney.  Studying under Associate Professor Gerard Willems and Dr Kirill Monorosi at the Sydney Conservatorium, she has developed a strong passion in classical music and piano performance which encompasses a wide-ranging and rich solo repertoire in the piano literature.  Her other great mentor includes Lyall Duke.  During her undergraduate years, she also undertook harmony analysis, music history and musicology research.

 

As an experienced piano teacher, Kary has taught students ranging from early beginner to advanced levels in Sydney, Australia.  Her goal as a piano tutor is to nurture each student’s unique potential through a systematic and effective approach.  She is also highly experienced in preparing students for AMEB/ABRSM exams and high school music scholarship exams.  There are students, whom she has taught, achieving high distinction/ honour in AMEB exams, as well as full music scholarship in high school.

 

Kary continued her postgraduate studies in piano performance at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University in 2022-2023.  During this period, she has achieved Graduate Certificate in Music Studies followed by Graduate Diploma of Music Studies under the tutelage of the esteemed Russian pianist Ms Natasha Vlassenko.

 

In addition, Kary regularly accompanied for woodwind students’ AMEB and HSC exams in Australia.  Recently, she has collaborated with mezzo-soprano at the Queensland Conservatorium.
