MORGAN CHAN WAI CHON
Senior Teacher - Saxophone

Morgan Chan Wai Chon, born in Macao, graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance (Saxophone) from the Macao Polytechnic Institute. He also studied Saxophone Performance at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in Belgium and Royal Holloway, University of London, in the UK. In 2017, he participated in the 4th Asia Pacific Saxophone Academy in Bangkok and subsequently studied under Hugo Loi.
In 2018, he achieved outstanding results by obtaining the ARSM diploma from ABRSM and swept the awards at the 36th Macao Young Musicians Competition, winning First Prizes in both the Saxophone Solo (Advanced Level) and Woodwind Concerto categories, along with the highest honor, the Cultural Affairs Bureau Grand Award.
In 2024, he experienced a professional breakthrough, winning the first prize in the Saxophone Open Category at the Liszt International Competition in Hungary, the championship in the Wind Category at the European Music Competition, and the Gold Medal in the Professional Category at the Premia Arts Festival. He was also invited to Japan to participate in the Okiden Sugarhall Debut Concert Competition and the Andorra International Competition.
