Vicky Tong graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance, studying under Dr. Jackson Leung. She was given the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award and the Outstanding Senior Music Award for her achievements as a student. Later, Vicky received a full scholarship from Kent State University and pursued her Master of Music degree in piano performance. She studied under Dr. Jerry Wong and Dr. Donna Lee. During her study, she was a piano accompanist of the Kent State University Opera and one of the apprentice instructors of KSU Teaching Institute Program. She had also been taught by renowned teachers and pianists such as, Ann Schein, James Tocco, Victor Rosenbaum, Jean-Louis Haguenauer and Eduard Zilberkant.
Vicky has held several piano solo recitals in both Macau and the United States. She also performed in Italy, Cremona International Music Academy; Canada, Toronto CUI International Music Festival and New York city Hunter College, International Keyboard Institute & Festival -18th Season.
Over the years, Vicky has participated and achieved great result in different piano competitions in Macau and oversea, such as: OhioMTA Graves Piano Competition: Young Artist Solo Division 1st Place, Cincinnati three Arts scholarship Fund and the 8th New Albany Symphony Concerto Competition 2nd Place. In addition, she won the concerto competitions of both Wright State University School of Music and Kent State University School of Music, which gave her the opportunity to perform the piano concertos with both universities’ orchestras as a soloist. In the past years, she also won many of the top three prizes in Macao Youth Musicians Competition and Hong Kong Asia Pacific Piano Competition.
Vicky is currently engaged in piano education and is committed to promoting the development of music in Macau.
